Some of our clients are more web savvy so having the ability to add <pre> tags in the comment editor or even markdown support for backtick formatting would be nice.

First of all, welcome to the community, we are stoked to have you here 
Interesting request, I’ve gone through what <pre> stands for and how it is used, and it seems like something that might be useful to a certain degree.
However, I am not sure if it’s for the masses (majority of the users), maybe something that would allow people to use tags would be more than enough, regardless - we would really appreciate it if you could post a suggestion / request via our FORM so that we can get an idea if other users would like to see this in Infinity as well.
